Who doesn’t love puff pastry? It’s so easy to use and it adds so much to a lot of dishes. Normally, I can’t find it in my local food store but I can find it at Whole Foods. This is an easy to make recipe that’s great either for an appetizer or that morning or afternoon snack. The ingredients are simple and really, the most you have to do is keep an eye on it while it’s baking. Use a non stick muffin pan, it makes it easier.
Ingredients:
Puff Pastry
Custard
Jam
Directions:
The long and the short of making these is that you want to cut the pastry to fit in the bottom of your muffin pan. Then you want to press it down useing a spoon or a cup. After you’ve made a “pastry cup”, use a fork and poke holes in the bottom of each cup. Once that’s done, brush each cup with an egg wash.
Bake in a preheated 400F oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Obviously, don’t let them burn. When they are done, remove from the oven and let them cool.
Once they are cooled, fill them with custard and top with jam. Serve right away or cool them off in the fridge.
